Playing within a Dreamworld
Annie Ruygt’s work lives in the in-between—where meaning isn’t spoken, but felt. Through her writing and illustration, she builds small portals of color, symbol, and story, inviting you to pause, wander, and recognize something you didn’t know you were looking for.
This is where the dreamworld leaks through. Welcome.
Books and Zines
Stories about our inner creative journeys, what it means to get stuck and find our way through.
Collaborations - Fly.io
Alongside her more introspective work, Annie brings a sense of play and curiosity to her collaborations with Fly.io, where her illustrations translate complex, often invisible systems into lively, imaginative worlds. Here, her characters take on a different kind of magic—mischievous sprites, adventurous birds, and strange little guardians of code—each one embodying pieces of a larger, hidden infrastructure.
Rather than separating the technical from the imaginative, Annie’s work blends them, turning concepts like distributed systems and resilience into something tangible, narrative, and even a little bit whimsical.
Collaborations - Outschool
In her work with Outschool, Annie helped shape a visual world rooted in curiosity, imagination, and possibility. Drawing from her instinct for storytelling, she developed characters and imagery that could hold the spirit of learning as an open, exploratory experience. Her approach to the brand was not just about cohesion, but about feeling: creating a visual language that invites both wonder and trust, where young learners could see themselves as explorers within a larger, unfolding world.
Through playful line, expression, and a sense of gentle magic, her work helped bring Outschool’s identity to life as a space where creativity and learning move hand in hand.
“She has the rare skill of intuitively understanding the spirit, direction, and heart behind any given project.”
